Diamonds Vs Branded Handbags

Some people or rather the female side of the population would raise an eye-brow when asked a question like the one above.

Logic outright dictates an investment in a rapidly nearing scarce commodity such as diamonds where demand is expected to outstrip supply in the coming months and years.

But then all decisions are not logical and very often emotional – definitely an integral part of the buying process as studies show.

In my quest I went online and have placed a few comments by lady shoppers in regards to our initial question: Diamonds VS Branded Handbags. Please see what they had to say:

1 individual:

I would pick a diamond ring over a bag any day!

but thats just me.. the ring will be a great investment… and i think why i also chose the ring is because bags age as do the collections and seasons, and i would get bored or not that fussed about them one day in 10 years time for example. but i can always wear my diamond ring…! i think for me lv bags would be a temporary thing… so u have my vote on the diamond ring! 😀

2nd individual:

I think I’d go for the designer bags. You can always get beautiful classic Louis Vuitton bags or better yet a classic Chanel 2.55! They’ll never go out of fashion. The diamond ring sounds nice too but I just would never buy one for myself well not right now anyways.

4th individual:

I would go for the handbags, but i’d be carefull with my choice and go with limited edition bags rather than the usual monogram canvas ****. But this is because i’m not really a ring person and think that my diamond engagement ring and my future wedding band are enough. However, if i were to go with diamonds, i would stick to a necklace and matching earrings.

Looking at the above 4 comments made on an online discussion forum – one gets the feeling that the vote is split so to speak and individuals have a right to decide or choose one way or the other depending on their views and personal choices which eventually drives the market place.

Elizabeth Taylor on the other hand if she was questioned in my humble opinion would have possibly decided in favour of diamonds as she was an avid collector of these rare precious gemstones and simply loved every facet of them.

In my opinion – female shoppers by far exceed male shoppers globally so they have the right and fortitude to decide.
